and yet another weekend over

they go by way to quickly! It’s back to Atlanta tomorrow. I’m assuming the weather will be like it was up here this weekend. That may not be the best assumption. I may want to check that forecast.

Regardless, I’m off again. The days are getting longer, so I’m going to see if I can get some caching in while I’m down there, or on my way to and fro (probably fro, since i cut it close on the to end of it). It will certainly make the trip more enjoyable.  It’s gotten boring over the last 6 months. I stop at the same exits for gas and coffee. I can practically get there on auto pilot. I probably am on autopilot when I do that drive in the morning!

I think I”m going to have to start staying someplace different just to shake things up a bit!

This seems to be my lucky weekend….

Spending Valentine’s Day with my sister, since are both sans valentines seemed like a smart thing to do. It’s also turned into the lucky thing to do. Friday night I won $1.00 on a scratch off lottery ticket. Yes, it’s only $1.00, but I did win!

Saturday we were doing Death by Chocolate. One of the stores sells a game. They have a sample of this out and will give a $5.00 GC if you can find the penny in the came in under 5 minutes. I think I found it in under 5 seconds! So YAY, I won $5 there, which I’ll be spending today to pick up a new flagpole.

I wonder what the Lucky Lady has in store for me today!

Is there a GPS for my life?

I found my way from Charlotte to Portsmouth Va in the dark. The next day I made it to a yarn store and then onto Chincoteague Va. I’d never been to either place, but with my trusty GPS, I was able to find both locations without getting lost, by myself, in the dark (in the case of Portsmouth).

Is there a GPS for my life? I know where I want to be, but I’m not quite sure how to get there. Its someplace I’ve never been before. As with most places in life, probably someplace I’ll never be again. I don’t have a map, and the directions I’ve been receiving from others are like most directions you get from people. They make perfect sense to them, but may sound like a different language to you (turn left at the gas station they tore down 15 years ago).

A GPS may not be perfect, but I think it would get me pretty close. From there, I can figure the rest of the way by myself. A this point, even a good old fashioned map would do. Something that will show me the most direct way to get from point a to point b. Doesn’t even have to be the most direct way, but I just want to know that the next step I take isn’t going to be off the bridge that’s been out for 20 years. Or down the highway that leads to noplace (otherwise known as 219 South out of Somerset)

So when is Garmin going to make that GPS? I’m in the market for it now.

There go those plans

I was thinking about going Geocaching this weekend but I don’t think that’s going to happen. There is a cache just down the road that I am determined to get. We tried in the summer, but it was too overgrown. I’m hoping now in the dead of winter when there aren’t any leaves I can actually find it.

There are a bunch of new ones posted in my area, so I’m excited to get back out there again. I used to have some really good micro mojo. I could walk right up to them. Lately my mojo has been a bit off. I need to find it again!

I also have a travel bug that has been waiting to get placed. Hmm, I think i’m getting excited, maybe I’ll do it anyway. Now, where are my gloves?

Caching is such a great way to learn the area. Even though I’ve been here a year, I’m not an expert. I found so many interesting places in Florida when I did it down there. I also met some neat people. I had been thinking of staring a caching group to meet more people and bring more into the fold of this pasttime.

I think I’m going to take advantage of being in Atlanta to find some urban caches in the city. The only scary thing is what do I do if a cop stops me. Hmm, must think about that.

Next weekend I’m going to be hanging with my sister. We’re already planning to cache. Must make sure I pack my other GPS. I’m going to see if the GPS on my Droid works. With all of the directional help, I should be able to keep from getting lost.  I think I’ll start working on my cache list!

And the hits just keep on coming….

My other favorite line from that movie is:  ‘You can’t handle the truth’, but I digress.

Tomorrow is Friday and it can’t come soon enough. It’s not even a matter of having to much to do and not enough time to do it, although that’s a consideration, but more of I just want to pull the covers over my head and ignore the world for a few days.

I’ll be back in Atlanta next week – I need to go to the dry cleaner and pick up some clothes! It also starts the craziest three weeks of this year so far! I’ll be traveling for fun (YAY) and then roll right into a services launch. Everyone is already crazy, and go-lives will make them even crazier. I need to start my lists, check them twice and try not to forget things. I’m sure I will, but I’m really going to try not to.

One step at a time is probably the best way to approach the next few weeks. I’ll start the first step now….

Step 1 – nap
