We have another open house today. I hope someone shows up. Jeff and I need to figure out what to do with the 3 hours we’ll have to waste. We’ll go out to lunch, for sure. Beyond that - I don’t know what we’re going to do. I’m going to take my camera and see if we can get some pictures someplace.
About 3pm I called Dana - I couldn’t stand it anymore!!!
So, the counter offer was submitted on Wednesday. They have until today to answer the counter and at 11am we’ve heard nothing. My realtor says they are playing hard to get. Let’s exhibit a little courtesy. You knew when you got the offer if you were going to accept, reject or re-counter. You knew that on the 26th. Even if you wanted to sleep on it to see if you wanted to make a different decision, you knew on the 27th. What is the problem that you couldn’t communicate, even a little to say yes, no or maybe, but just to drop off the face of the earth? What gives?
Personally, I hope they will come back and be realistic about the whole thing. However, at this point, I’m really not holding out much faith that they will. I wasn’t sure at the beginning since they came in so low, but now, yeah, really not so much.
And I’m not financing your addition. If it’s that big of a deal, buy a bigger house. But wait, you can’t get one of those at the price you offered - well you’re not going to get mine at the price you offered either.
Busy day. I’m going to be sleeping sound soon
Work is heating up and I don’t know that I’ll have a lot of time to fool around on my own little projects. It’s going to be a killer couple of weeks. I need to make sure that I actually take my PTO time next weekend and not check emails, blah blah blah.
It looks like it’s going to rain here today, which is causing me to have a sinus headache that I feel like there is a knife between my eyes.
Guess that’s about all that’s going on right now. I’d better get back to work.
Man, I’m tired - I finished my class today and came home. It’s good to be home.
The class was really good. I met a good group of people, I need to sign up for my class in june and see if I can go. I’ve got a ton of work to do tomorrow. I think i’m going to go to bed.
It’s been a long day here in Orlando. The training is going well, the project is holding its own, but I fear i’m in the heads down until the end mode, which means I’ll be working more hours. Hours Hours Hours.
So we’re going to counter tomorrow. I’m not holding out any hope of them accepting the counter, or of them coming back with an offer that we’ll find acceptable. I think they were playing and they aren’t serious about the house. BUT what has happened is the seal has been broken. I expect that another offer should come.
Ah well - my prayer to St. Joe - please let them come back to us with a reasonable offer that we can accept. As long as its in the plan that this happen.
SO - get a call from my realtor today - we have an offer :-). The offer was 83K less than list 
. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING. Let’s be reasonable about this. If you can’t afford to buy my house - DON’T WASTE MY TIME. If you can afford to buy my house, make me an offer I will at least consider! Yes, I want to sell this house, but I’m not going to give it away. Yes, we are going to counter, but in the range where I expect an offer to be. I’ve given my realtor the bottom line - and I’m even willing to go a smidge below that, but geez! I think we’ve invested more in the house over what we bought it for than they are offering - okay, maybe not that much, at least half! (new roof, new paint, new carpet, blah blah blah) Ah well, it was an offer - so YAY for that. Maybe that was practice for the real offer that will come through some day soon (very soon) I hope. Hmm, wonder if they put the offer on the wrong house. Nah, they couldn’t be that dumb
Where do the weekends go? I know, I spent mine goofing off, but it was still short. Tonight I have to drive to Orlando for a training class. Think what you want, but I will not be goofing off at Disney - as much as I would like to be. This is going to be another fast week. Two days of training, then it’s already Thursday. This weekend we have an open house. I hope the weather holds. The last one we had was on a very rainy day and no one showed. I’m half expecting them to call today, especially since i have calls all day, the kitchen has dishes on the counter and I haven’t packed for my trip yet. Yeah, that would be the day they’d call. But hey - if it means an offer, i’ll happily leave.
I made my list of things to pack, I hope I remember to refer to the list and pack everything (for a 2 day trip 
).
Yeah, a turtle - Jeff went out to work on my truck and he comes in to tell me about a turtle in the yard. Turtles in Florida are not uncommon, I’ve helped a few across the road, but it’s still tickles me to get up close and personal with them.
Yes, i messed with the wildlife by picking him up. He closed his shell up tight. I held him for a while until he started poking his nose out. Ok, so maybe he just opened the front door a little bit.
He was in the shade of a palm tree, the grass was still wet with dew and while the sun was hot, it was cooler in the shade. The grass was bright green and springy, I’m sure he was munching his way to whereever he was going.
If you note his shell, it looks like it was painted, but this is a Box Turtle, not a Painted Turtle. Some would call it a painted box turtle. Whatever you want to call it, it’s cute.
Other than that, it was a pretty lazy Sunday. We did have a showing today (OH MY). We had gone out to lunch and came home to a message on the voicemail. So a quick clean and then we were out the door. Once again, they came and left a business card! I hope one of these people finally decide to buy soon! I’ll be in Orlando this week for a training class. Maybe we’ll have more showings this week while I’m not home! Wouldn’t that be cool.
Ah well, Sunday is almost over and with it the weekend. These weekends go SO fast!
