….sometimes it is.
Yeah, as discussed yesterday, I’ve been working too much. So much in fact that I haven’t found the time to get my hair done since March 17th. Yeah, six months without covering up those gray hairs!! Now, in my defense, the color has faded such that I don’t have a stark root line and it seems that it faded naturally. I’m going to NY on Monday for a client meeting, a new client. I probably should be looking my best, but due to my lack of time to even make a phone call, let alone get my butt to the stylist I was looking at Saturday afternoon of ‘WHAT AM I GOING TO DO’?Â
After a stop at our local Publix to pick up milk, bread and cookies, I also picked up one of the many color at home kits. Its been YEARS since I tried this. There is a reason i pay someone to do this. About an hour, a wet floor and some smelly color later I have a bright, fresh color that covers the gray and makes me look awake and vibrant. I know I’m going to have to make an appointment soon - as this color won’t last all that long (it washed off of my skin way to easily), but for a stop gap - it wasn’t all that bad. The color looks pretty good. For $20 vs. $100, maybe doing it myself isn’t so bad, now if I could only cut my own hair!

I don’t talk about work on here much. One, I don’t want to end up like her and I work enough, I don’t need to be talking about it. I think I hit the wall today. My system went live at the beginning of September. I’ve been trying to manage that as well as working on my new account. I’ve been working wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much. I knew I was working a lot, but when I find out that my mailbox is full because I haven’t checked email for a while, my husband is actually complaining that I’m not spending enough time with him and my sister has to call me to make sure I’m still alive, yeah, maybe I need to cut back a bit. And I will, as soon as I get through the next couple of months. I think by the end of October things should calm down a bit. They certainly better - November is NANOWRIMO
So on that note, I think i’m going to have my cookies and milk, take a shower and go to bed.

I got a new scanner! I’m finally getting to all of my old slides. This is from Hawaii in 2001. Frog fish, I wonder how they name these things.
I need to print with my new printer (yes, it’s a printer, scanner, fax, copier). See if it’s any better quality. I want to get some stuff framed and matted today too. We hung some pictures, but I want to get more printed and framed. This scanner is so much easier than my last one, it will be easy to scan the rest of my pictures and re-scan those I have from belize.
I actually have a bunch of work I need to do today and I want to spend some time around the pool, trying to relax after this week. I wonder if I can fit it all in. I slept last night - Oh I was so tired. I took Jeff out to a nice dinner for putting up with my crazy schedule. I think next week will start to be better. I’m moving onto my other project. I have travel arrangements to make this weekend. OH my. Now I’m making myself tired just thinking about all that.

I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t make a comment about Florence swirling around out there in the Atlantic. Right now I can’t even get too excited about it. I have too much going on at work.

I felt a little like a tourist this weekend. We don’t go to the beach much. Jeff and I usually go diving instead. This was quite a treat! I like playing in the ocean, I like looking for shells. I like laying on the beach reading a book or taking pictures. I think we’ll have to go to the beach more often, if nothing more than to wade in the surf.
Those are the type of things that make me happy I’m in Florida. Thinking about the air becoming crisp and the leaves changing colors bring a longing to be up north. I am torn between the two places. I wanted to change the header picture on my blog, something seasonal. Guess what - things don’t change down here. According to the natives, you can see the subtle fall changes, but I don’t do subtle, I do dramatic. I don’t have any pictures of fall leaves, halloween, or cornfields. I do have snow! and I do have Christmas, so at least that’s covered. Hmmm, need to work on the cornfields.
Ah well, in the meantime maybe my new fall will be under water. I’m sure I could find something under there.

My sister doesn’t know if I am still alive (now she does). I am, I have been, but I’ve been just BUSY.
First there was work. work work work work work. Work i’m even doing today. What it takes to get a system live - guess this is why I get paid the big bucks ;-).
This weekend Adam and Holly came to visit. Adam is Jeff’s best friend.
Jeff was thrilled that Adam was coming down. I was thrilled that Holly was coming with him. I like Holly. We haven’t had a great deal of time to get to know each other, but I do like her. I hope we get the opportunity to become friends in our own right, not just hanging out because our husbands do, but I digress.
We wanted to go diving this weekend. Ernesto made sure that wasn’t going to happen. Even though he was only a tropical storm, he stirred up the ocean enough that there wasn’t any visability. So we wanted to go to the beach. On Saturday we got to the Marine Life Center to visit with the turtles first and then the sky turned black. We went to bead store instead, and spent a rainy Saturday afternoon laying out my badge laynard, an anklet and watching a movie.
Sunday we got up early and hit the beach.
And we did have a good time. The ocean wasn’t cold and the beach wasn’t crowded! It was a beautiful thing. We found some shells. Nothing amazing, just ordinary shells that will look nice with some sand in a jar.
All too soon the sky started looking black again - time to take a hike again! We drove down the island of Palm Beach, looking at the ocean and the obnoxious displays of wealth. Oh the houses along Ocean Drive. Oh the money along Ocean Drive!
They have a 10:30am flight this morning, so they are already out of the house and on their way to Ft. Lauderdale. I wish they could have stayed longer and we could have gone out and had more fun today, but 1. I have to work today (yeah, see above with getting the system live) and it looks like it’s going to rain AGAIN! Can I just tell you HOW tired i am of rain - tired tired tired of rain rain rain!

Adam and Holly came down to visit. We haven’t seen them since Christmas, so this is a nice treat!! If I didn’t have to work this weekend, it would have been even nicer, but……
Today, after a lazy morning (for them, I was working) we went to Juno for lunch at the Thirsty Turtle and a visit to the Marine Life Center. They had turtles in the turtle hospital. Holly loves sea turtles (as do I and Jeff). They had some that they were nursing back to health as well as a tank of hatchlings! Oh how cute.
We were going to go to the beach, but the sky opened up, so we went to Iris Moon Beads to find beads to make a lanyard for my badge. It looks like a fun hobby, but I think it could be more expensive than stamping. Still, it looks like fun! We made the laynard, an anklet and I still have enough left over for something else. Now I’ve got to figure out what the something else is. I may have gotten sucked into this hobby. Hmmmmm, what to make with my left over beads.
After a dinner of junk food and a movie, we played in the pool. It wasn’t a full moon tonight, but it was a good picture! And a good time was had by all. And a sleepy time is being had by me!
